Parents’
Code of Ethics
I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and
encouragement for my child participating in Falcon Trail Youth Program’s Sports
and Instructional classes by following this Parents’ Code of Ethics Pledge.
* I
will encourage good sportsmanship by encouraging positive support for all participants,
coaches, officials and instructors regardless of race, sex, or ability.
*
I
will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of a
personal desire to compete/win, remembering that the activity is for the
children not the adults.
*
I
will respect the knowledge of the instructors/coaches and show them my support
by refraining from verbal communication with my child during the activity.
*
I
will support a healthy environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco,
and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all visits to the Youth Program
classes and sports events.
*
I
will ensure my child arrives on time and properly dressed wearing close fitting
clothes or uniform, no jewelry, and hair tied back away from the face.
*
I
will directly supervise all children not enrolled in a class or sport, ensuring
they remain within the observation area.
* I
will ensure my child does not enter the gymnasium, dance floor or activity area
without the instructor’s consent.
*
If
my child is younger than six years of age, I will remain in the instructional
area during my child’s class, sport or event.
*
If
at any time I demonstrate any behavior against this pledge, I understand that
it may impact my child’s participation in classes or events at Youth Programs.
*
I
will promise to help my child enjoy the youth sports, class or event experience
within my personal constraints by assisting with coaching, being a respectful
fan, providing transportation or whatever I am capable of doing.
*
I
will require that my child’s coach/ instructor be trained in the
responsibilities of being a youth sports coach/ instructor and that the
coach/instructor agree to the Code of Ethics.
