Vet clinic1. The Veterinary Clinic is located in Bldg. 6966 behind Air Academy High School, on the south side of the base. It's open weekday mornings and afternoons for active duty and retired military members, and appointments are required on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is limited medical care for domestic small animals, and no boarding facilities are available. Annual vaccinations are required, including distemper, parvovirus, coronavirus and hepatitis immunizations for dogs, and feline leukemia immunizations for cats. Tests are conducted for internal parasites such as worms, and remove external parasites.

2. Register Your Pets!
All privately owned animals on base are required to be registered with the USAFA Veterinary Services. In accordance with USAFA Instruction 48-103, all privately owned animals living in quarters on base must be registered with the USAFA Veterinary Services within 10 days of arrival. To register, owners should bring proof of vaccination to the Veterinary Treatment Facility in Building 6966.

3. Be Sure to Vaccinate Your Pet!
Is your pet up to date on vaccinations? During the spring and summer months your animal is more susceptible to contact a contagious disease such as distemper, parvovirus and coronavirus. Internal and external parasites such as worms and ticks are also a problem in the warmer months. Personnel on base are required to have pets registered at no charge within seven days of arrival, and must have their pets vaccinated annually.
