“We’ll be so happy to have your child in our PDE program,” said Micki Pedone, program director, who has been in the program on base for over 17 years.

“In our program, children learn through their play, their daily activities, and interactions with others,” she said. “We use a hands-on approach to learning based on the Creative Curriculum, which allows children to develop at their own pace. We don’t use flash cards or drills, but rather create an open learning environment for your child to explore, create and discover his or her world.”

Programs:

Part-Day Enrichment
      For children ages 3 through 5, who are age 3 by Sept. 15, whose parents do not need full-day service but would like their children to participate in an early childhood program. A choice of morning or afternoon classes include: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or Tuesday and Thursday, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., or 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. 

Science experiment

Pre-Kindergarten
      Classes are conducted five mornings a week for children who are about to enter Kindergarten. A full-day Pre-Kindergarten program is conducted in the summer.

Hourly Care
      Hourly care is offered Monday through Friday, year-round, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for children ages 12 months through 5 years. A lunch and afternoon snack is given daily, and arrangements can be made to start as early as 8 a.m. The cost is $2.50/hour, and reservations should be made at least one week in advance. This type of care is short term, usually from one to five hours on a non-regular basis. Make reservations at 333-4166.

Summer Program
      Consists of three 4-week sessions, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Press HERE for more information.

Registration
      Registration for the Summer Program always begins the first Monday in April. Pre-registration for the fall PDE program always begins the first Thursday and Friday in May.

Eligible users of 10th Services Division activities are active duty and retired military, NAF and DoD government employees, USAFA cadets and Prep School students, reservists, national  guard, and eligible family members. Eligible users of the Officers' and Enlisted Clubs are detailed on those pages. Eligible users of Academy Concerts include the general public. 5/2/07 Web POC
