Wiggle Walls & Yellow Balls

Special Feature: The Parent's Handbook --
"Wiggle Walls and Yellow Balls"

Located at 6250 Sunflower, in Pine Valley, the modern center is marked by its outdoor entrance theme: "Wiggle Walls and Yellow Balls". Parents are asked to assist their children when walking on the long, red wiggle wall that leads to the front entrance.

Special Feature: Part-Day Enrichment makes learning fun! -- Once known as the “Nursery School,” then the “Pre-School,” the Part-Day Enrichment Program is now located in the former Child Development Center, 5150 Community Center Drive. Phone 333-4733 to enroll.

Hourly care at Part Day Enrichment Program
Hourly care is offered Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., for children ages 12 months-5 years. A lunch and afternoon snack is given daily, and arrangements can be made to start as early as 8 a.m. The cost is $3/hr., and reservations should be made at least one week in advance, by calling 333-4166.  

Family Child Care brochureFamily Child Care -- Become a Family Child Care Provider
See the new Family Child Care brochure. Learn how to become an FCC provider. Earn Extra Income caring for children. The Family Child Care office is now accepting applications for anyone interested in becoming a licensed Family Child Care provider. Anyone providing care for children in government quarters must be licensed through the Family Child Care office. Anyone interested in becoming licensed should contact the Family Child Care office at 333-7957.

Subsidy offsets Family Child Care costs -- Parents needing care for their children can place them in one of several licensed homes on base that offer Family Child Care, and parents are now eligible for subsidized support.

Child Development Center earns prestigious national accreditation -- The Academy Child Development Centers were recently granted accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This prestigious recognition has been achieved by only about 7 percent of early childhood programs nationwide.

Give Parents a Break Program
Give Parents a Break is a program sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society for families who are under stress and feel they need a break or just a little time to themselves. The Child Development Center will care for the children of referred families every second Saturday of the month for free. Families can get a referral from their Squadron First Sergeants or can contact the Family Support Center, 333-3444. After getting a referral, call the CDC at 333-6779 for a reservation.

 

 

Eligible users of 10th Services Division activities are active duty and retired military, NAF and DoD government employees, USAFA cadets and Prep School students, reservists, national  guard, and eligible family members.
