Eligibility
Active duty military, retired military, reserves and
categories covered in the USAF Instruction 34-101. Inquire for
policy on sponsored guests; current security precautions may
prevail. Ordinarily, family and guests may be sponsored by eligible
people, and sponsored guests must be signed up through the Outdoor
Recreation Center (Bldg. 5136, Community Center) by the eligible
person.
Site Policy and
Procedures
There is a 30-day maximum stay between May 1 - Sept. 30,
and an unlimited stay Oct. 1 - April 30. The sites are to be
occupied by an individual family in a self-contained RV only.
Subletting of these sites is not allowed. There is a limit of two
vehicles per site. Others must be parked in the overflow parking
area. There is also no storage of boats or trailers on the
site.
Peregrine Pines FamCamp
Welcome to Peregrine Pines FamCamp at the United States Air Force Academy The camp is managed by the Outdoor Recreation Center which is located in Building 5136 of the Community Center. The camp has 106 wooded sites for camping, all with electrical, water and sewage hookups. There are also 8 tent sites. A shower and laundry facility opened in the summer of 1999, and a new office and restroom facility opened in the summer of 2005. In addition, there are picnic tables, barbeque grills, bear proof dumpsters, level parking spaces and many pull-through sites. The FamCamp is open year-round depending on weather conditions.
Peregrine Pines FamCamp is located east of Falcon Stadium across
Stadium Blvd. Winter Office Hours: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Fridays and
Saturdays. No winter caretaker. FamCamp Manager is In
and Out Mon.-Fri. during winter.
If arriving real late, please park on side of road or in the ball
diamond at the entrance and pick site and register in the
morning.
Reservations are highly recommended for stays between May 1 - Sept. 30. No reservations are taken for Oct. 1- April 30; sites are available on a first-come basis.
Winter rates: $16 per site for military, and $21 for sponsored guests or $420 per 30 nites until April 1, 2010.
Rate Change effective 1 April 2010 $20 per site for military and $25 for sponsored guests
Reservations can be made by credit card; payment in full will be due at time of arrival.
A one-night fee will be charged to no-shows. Payment by cash, check, VISA or Mastercard.
Please Note: The week of Graduation, Wednesday before Memorial Day, is very busy. (FamCamp is booked by families of Cadets)
Procedures for Winter
Registration
Payment can also be mase at the Outdoor Recreation Center, Bldg.
5136 in the Community Center. Registration forms and envelopes are
located in the green mail box outside the Famcamp office. Fill one
out completely. Keep the back copy and display it on the site post.
Put the white original copy in the envelope with payment and drop
in the slot in the office door. When you depart please remove your
receipt from site post.; please put envelopes with payments in slot
in the office door.
Reservations / Payment Policy
Reservations for camping are highly recommended for May 1 through Oct. 1, and can be made only by eligible patrons. Reservations are accepted up to 60 days prior to arrival, by calling Peregrine Pines FamCamp at (719) 333-4980, 7days a week, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 1 to Sept. 30. Campers are charged per night per site. There is no discount for weekly or monthly stays. Check in time is 12 noon with check out at 11 a.m. Reservations will be held until 9 a.m. the next day; after that time the reservation is considered cancelled. Failure to show up or cancel a reservation will result in a one-night cancellation fee. VISA and Mastercard are accepted by phone or a check may be sent within seven working days. A credit card number will be required to make a reservation and will not be charged until arrival. At this time you can pay with that card, another card, check, or cash. If you do not notify Famcamp within 48 hours that you would like to cancel, a one night fee will be charged to that card.
FamCamp Rate Increase Starting April 1st, 2010
Starting April 1st 2010, the FamCamp rates will be increased by $2.00. The fee increase is necessary to meet the requirements of the NAF loan which funded the 2004 FamCamp improvement project. In that project several of the main complaints were taken care of, such as the entrance road being paved, the construction of another bath house/laundry facility, and a new office. The military rate will now be $20.00 for full hook-up sites and $25.00 for a sponsored in guest. Tent sites will be $10.00 military and $13.00 for guest. We also hope to use the increased income to continually improve the campground. In the future we hope to eventually have a dog park, gazebos, and a nice community area. We have compared local rates and the US Air Force Academy's Peregrine Pines FamCamp is still a great deal and one of the best FamCamps in the Air Force. So please, stop in and pay us a visit.
