TRIP DESCRIPTION:    The Front Range Trail is planned to run from Wyoming to New Mexico, but it’s not done yet.  Join us as we ride 45 miles (one way) of this trail from Greenland to Fountain. We’ll meet at Outdoor Rec. at 0730, load up and head to Greenland . The trail goes by other names on this route, to include: The New Santa Fe Trail, Pikes Peak Greenway Trail and Fountain Creek Regional Trail. You may have ridden some of this route already, but it’s not that easy to ride the whole thing without a shuttle. We will have a support vehicle along the way and a lunch stop. Activity includes: Transportation, shuttles, vehicle support, guides and lunch. Cost: $20

WHAT TO BRING:        Off-road or hybrid bike in good operational condition (road racing bikes would not work well as most of the trail is hard packed dirt and sand), helmet (mandatory), water, sunscreen, camera, and sunglasses. Front and Dual suspension bikes are available to rent for $20 call 333-4753 to reserve.

WHAT TO WEAR:        Apparel appropriate for the sport and dress in layers. Bike gloves and padded shorts can make your ride much more comfortable. Avoid cotton clothing.  Most of all, Dress For The Weather!

POSSIBLE RISKS:        Sunburn and dehydration are the biggest threat. Dress appropriately and drink lots of water.

POSSIBLE HAZARDS:    This ride takes place on dirt and cement bike paths, be prepared to ride on both surfaces. Path is used by many pedestrians; joggers and other cyclist, be aware of others around you. To stay alert and be able hear traffic we ask that you leave your headsets and radios at home (Colorado State Law anyway). Bridge crossings, maybe some construction areas, sandy corners and holes are possible. Use caution, stay on the path, follow your guide and stay in control. Be sure to arrive on time for a pre-trip bike inspection.
