This is a unique and special place, located in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. You’re fortunate to be here, and we’re fortunate to be able to serve you. We are a special section in the Air Force, known as SERVICES. It’s our mission to provide stimulating leisure-time and fitness activities that will appeal to you.

You’re in a great location. Many exciting and beautiful places are within a few hours drive of the base. Manitou Springs, Cripple Creek, Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, and Denver are just a few. It’s easy to get to the mountains for year-round outdoor fun. Mesa Verde, Rocky Mountain National Park, Canyonlands National Monument, the Great Sand Dunes National Monument, and all state parks, ski resorts, and other attractions in Colorado are easy to reach in less than a day’s drive.
This web site will provide you an introduction to each activity and maps that show their locations. The Air Force Academy covers many scenic acres, but most activities are located in one of six main areas: the southern part of base near the South Gate and in Pine Valley; the Hobby Shop area off Community Center Drive; the Community Center; Peregrine Pines area east of Falcon Stadium; the northern part of base between Academy Drive and Parade Loop; and the Cadet Area. Farish Recreation Area is located 10 miles west of the Academy. We’ve listed phone numbers for each activity so that any of our staff can assist you, or you may call our Marketing Office for assistance, at 333-3348.
Whether you’re enjoying yourself on base or off, our goal is to provide you and your family with the best possible programs. To achieve this goal, we need your input and your support. We sincerely welcome any comments or recommendations that would further improve or expand our services. Enjoy your stay at the Academy and make the most of your leisure time.
Eligible users of 10th Services Division activities are active duty and retired military, NAF and DoD government employees, USAFA cadets and Prep School students, reservists, national guard, and eligible family members.
